First Ever World Children’s Parliament


World Children’s Parliament
A World Children’s Parliament organised by Wakelet and Microsoft 365 on the eve of COP28 in Dubai at 5pm, Wed 29th Nov, will address the urgent need for measures to protect our planet, Darwin 200-style.
The Children’s Parliament for primary school students was founded by the late Sir David Amess.
The 90 minute live discussion will be livestreamed on The Express social platforms.
Children’s Parliament Sustainability Ambassador Mary Fellowes will join to debate from COP28 in Dubai.
Critical to the World Parliament is not what is destroyed but what we to do to preserve what is left.

Paralleling the Darwin 200 mission, the key issues for the World Parliament are:
Darwin Doodle Competition
A global Darwin Doodle competition is running concurrently lead by Joe Whale aka The Doodle Boy in collaboration with the Darwin Centre in Wales.
Final judging will take place on 12th February 2024, and ‘Doodler-in-chief’ Joe Whale will have the final say on the winning entries.
Darwin200
Darwin 200, the tall ship, set sail from Plymouth, England on its global conservation voyage. The Child MPs part of the World Parliament, will link to the ship via satellite which will be en route.
Childrens Parliament Sustainability advisor will join the session from COP28 in Dubai. Child PM Harry will be video linking to the Extreme Hangout at the world gathering.
Children from the UK, India, USA, Kenya and Ghana, Australia and New Zealand and other countries will debate critical issues to save the planet.
The previous 4 UK Children’s Parliaments have seen over 300 Child MPs matched to political constituencies debating key issues.


Parliamentary Champion for the Children’s Parliament is Anna Firth MP.
Headteacher for the Children’s Parliament is Peter Spencer-Lane, who will host the event from Saint Pierre School in Leigh on Sea, Essex.
Patron of the Children’s Parliament is Katie Amess, the eldest daughter of the late Sir David Amess.
